Dr G. Amarnath is a senior consultant Clinical and Radiation Oncology at Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital Pallikaranai Chennai with more than 30 years of experience in the speciality. He has been the past President of the Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry chapter Association of Radiation oncology of India. He has successfully organized several National workshops and conferences. He is also a member of several Organizations and Associations and Societies. He was the Editor of Tamil Nadu State Association of Radiation Oncologists of India Journal, and National Journal of Indian Brachytherapy Society. He was also the Editor of Madurai Medical Journal. He has several awards to his credit including the Rai Memorial Oration by Association of Radiation Oncologists of India Tamil Nadu and Pondy Chapter in recognition of his services in Oncology, Clinical, Teaching and Community activities.

He has also several IMA awards for meritorious services in the field of Radiation oncology, literature, community services, and academic activities.

Dr. G. Amarnath was awarded the prestigious Ida. B. Scudder oration on the December 4th 2021 during the 36th annual state conference by the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Association of Radiation Oncologists of India for his contribution in the field of Oncology, promotion, teaching and community activities

Dr. G. Amarnath was awarded the AROI Endowment Oration during the 25th Annual conference of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Chapter Association of Medical Physicists of India held at Chennai on 23rd April 2022

Area of interest :

Cancers of the Head and neck, Breast, Neuro, Lung, Gastro Intestinal Tract, and Gynecologic malignancies with focus on higher end techniques in Radiation therapy with Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT), and Stereotactic Radio Surgery (SRS), Tomotherapy and Cyber knife apart from High dose rate Brachytherapy procedures for various sites

• Participation as faculty in major oncology conferences
• Teaching and guiding young Radiation oncologists
• Organizing workshops, conferences and CME programmes
• Community oncology services including cancer screening programmes health education in association with Govt. and private organizations
• Medical literature activities.
